I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at JCPenney (Melbourne, FL) in Apr 2016
Interview
Identical to what others have described here. Group interview (for multiple positions). 5 of us. The whole block project to see who is a leader. Then each of us taken back for several minutes for a 1:1 interview. Pretty standard questions about background and why you want to work there. Interviewer was extremely nice and fun. We actually had a lot in common and spent time just chatting as well. Said she would call in the next few days. Never heard from her again. Glassdoor came in very helpful here since I was prepared for the group/blocks activity beforehand. Other people there seemed confused and thrown off that it was a group situation.

Interview
Was asked what my availability was like. Went through a series of scenarios and had to give my answer and why I chose that answer. After that I had to wait for half an hour for a second interview with another manager.
