I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at JCPenney in Nov 2013
Interview
The hiring process was fairly easy, as I was originally hired for seasonal/holiday help (I ended up being kept as a regular associate). I applied online and received a call back 2 days later. I spoke with the HR manager and came in for an interview. The interview was a group interview, although I only had one other person in my group. We were each given a certain section of a department (our was the men's department) and told a role play situation. We were given 10 minutes each to figure out what our answer would be.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The hiring manager gave each of us a role play situation with 10 minutes to think about it. I was put in the young men's section of the store and given a role play question. "My husband and I are going to a southwestern themed birthday party and I need help finding something for him to wear."
I applied in-person. I interviewed at JCPenney (Tempe, AZ)
Interview
It was in a very professional and comfortable setting in the store. And it was conducted with the store and salon manager at that location. Both of the managers were kind and professional.
It was a group interview which led to an individual interview with a supervisor. If you pass the first round you have a higher chance of getting hired on for a position
Interview process went smoothly. Asked behavioral questions and situational questions that catered to how you deal with a variety of customer personalities. Also asked about previous employment roles. Offered a job on the first interview.
