I applied in-person. I interviewed at JD Group (Whitechapel, England) in Jun 2023
Interview
The manager took my CV informally in store and a week later, called me up for an interview, saying on the phone he's ready to give me the job. However, when I arrived there, I started to notice very unprofessional behaviour. He told me in his office to not to feel uncomfortable as there were CCTV cameras. He kept insisting whether I can work here, me having an university degree could be disadvantages for him, he told me his employees are street smart and I lacked in that side. He warned me about never taking any sick leaves of coming late no matter what. He even said his employees are gossip mongers and to never gossip with them and so on. He started inputting my information in the software but once I started asking about contractual hours and shift patters, he changed his mind. He told me that he'll call me next Monday and promising to give me the job then. He never called me back, and he didn't even receive my calls ever again. He didn't even send me a formal rejection email or anything. The whole experience was so unprofessional and I'm actually glad to have dodged a bullet there.
