I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at JPMorganChase (Tampa, FL) in Sep 2021
Interview
First, I got called by a recruiter from a third party. She told me I had to take an exam, which was on String formatting. I passed the exam and moved on to the next phase of the interview process. There was a virtual hiring day, which I interviewed with different hiring managers.
I did a technical interview with two hiring managers where they asked me questions about REST and microservices as well as Java 8 lambdas. The next interview was your standard behavioral interview with two more hiring managers.
A week later, I was called back by the hiring manager saying that another manager wanted to interview me. From there, he wanted to do a screen share where I would code in Angular JS. Unfortunately, there were some technical difficulties with this part of the interview and it never happened.
The hiring manager reached back out to me to reschedule to a few hours later on the same day. When the time came for the interview, I heard nothing. I called back the next day. Went straight to voicemail. I called twice more in one-week intervals. Ghosted. No response back. No nothing.
For a large, billion-dollar company, it's disappointing that this is the process for hiring new employees. Given the number of job postings they have, you would think they would be much more professional about their hiring process. This is the most disappointing interview I've ever had in the 4+ years of my career as a developer.
I completed three rounds of interviews for the position, including technical assessments that evaluated my coding proficiency through practical problem-solving exercises designed to test relevant software development skills and knowledge.
Was given a leetcode problem within the first 4 mins of the interviewer. Wish I was making this up. Interviewers did not really introduce themselves besides names, straight to the code problem. The interview felt extremely cold. No soul, no passion, no discussion
Asked very scripted questions and everyone took a lot of notes. I really enjoyed the people I spoke with and they really made me think about the role and my past
