I was contacted by a recruiter through a referral and scheduled a 30 minute phone screen. Despite the salary being below my pay grade, I was interested in the opportunity and preferred to continue to get a real sense of the role and team. The next week I had a 30-45 minute phone interview with the hiring manager that went very well, and I was told I was invited for an in person interview. The next week or so I was scheduled for a 4 hour in-person interview (in my experience team face to faces have only been 2.5-3 hours long), which didn't even include the hiring manager. I wasn't told until after that she was traveling, so I asked to meet with the hiring manager in person the next week. I followed up a few times and finally was told that they were choosing not to continue with the hiring process, and when I asked for feedback was told there was a strict policy of no interview feedback, which I found very odd and disappointing. Ultimately my experience was neutral to good -- the recruiter was great to communicate with -- but I found it strange that I was never able to meet with the hiring manager who seemed to like me so much over the phone before the process was cut off.
