      Senior QA Engineer Interview

      Jan 26, 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Portland, OR
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Jama Software (Portland, OR) in Nov 2015

      Interview

A HR phone interview followed by phone interview with the Hiring Manager. Then they had a questionnaire with SQL, shell Scripting, Regression testing sent over to be completed in a week. After that was done, I was schedule for a more than half day interview with the team. Due to some personal reasons, I did not end up joining but I would like to point out couple of things about the company, people and the whole interview process here: The HR is very professional, responsive and friendly. The Hiring manager, entire team is super friendly. They have great processes in place. The company has great vision, and everyone in the company seems to have working towards that. Would have loved to join if my situation did not change while the process was going on.

      Senior QA Engineer Interview

      Jul 9, 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Portland, OR
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Jama Software (Portland, OR) in Jul 2015

      Interview

The interview process was very smooth: 1) Initial call with the HR Rep to discuss the company and the role to ensure I understood the position. 2) Technical phone screen with 2 Senior QA Engineers who asked some basic probing questions about the resume. Mostly just describing what I did technically at previous jobs. 3) Emailed a detailed Technical Test that needed to be completed before the interview. The test covered scripting (batch, shell), SQL, Automation (including creating a project to automate a real Jama website) and manual/exploratory testing. The test was comprehensive and took me about 5 hours to do it correctly. 4) Came in for an interview. a) Group A - 2 QA and 1 Dev b) Group B - 2 QA and 1 Dev c) Group C - 1 Dev Manager 5) Finally I had a 1:1 Coffee with the VP of Engineering 6) Job offered via HR Rep Phone Call The entire experience went really well. I was emailed and followed up by the HR Rep (Lauren), I felt connected during the entire process and had no issues.
