I had a phone call with the recruiter followed by a 30 minutes video call. Secondly, I had a 30 minutes video call with the Product and Development Manager and the Talent Acquisition Partner and then a 30 minutes video call with the HR Manager. After that, I was invited for the on-site interview with the Department Director and the P&D Manager. As I have a few more questions in regard to the role, I had a video call with the HR Manager again. After each step I received a positive feedback, I heard I fit the business very well and they seemed to be very interested in me. I was told that I’m the only candidate for the Research Technician role at that moment. After over a week since the last meeting, I was informed that they would like to interview me once again for a Research Engineer role. They thought I may fit that job better with my education, even though I had no experience in that field. I asked if they still consider me for a Technician role, but I didn’t get a clear answer. I had a 1 hour technical interview which I can’t call a success. After almost a week they have made their final decision not to offer me any job. They said they were looking for someone to stay in the company for a long time and they thought I may want to move on to something else quickly. I was happy about that role and never complained about the duties and responsibilities listed in a position description, so I really don’t understand their explanation. The process took 6 weeks. During the process I met really nice and ambitious people and my negative rate relates to the process itself. I personally think this decision could have been made faster and this would save both their and my time as well as frustration on my side.
