I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at James Hardie Building Products (Fontana, CA) in Jun 2014
Interview
Applied for the position and in 3 weeks got a phone screen by a gentleman in Chicago, a week later I was told to perform a video interview. 2 weeks later I had a in lunch meeting with the department chair and engineering manager. a week later I was brought in with 2 other interviewees. No hard questions, mostly interested in hours worked, previous project management stories, and activities outside of work. A week later I was approached about my expected salary (15% more than current), and asked if that was negotiable. I told them give me an offer and it was 6% LESS than I was making.

Question 1
Motivations, hobbies, day-to-day experiences as well as more about challenges I've faced
Process was fun and simple. Was shown around the plant on a tour, met potential coworkers, had two interview panels, and was able to eat lunch with the team as well
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at James Hardie Building Products
Interview
Phone screen with company recruiter, phone screen with recruiting manager, wonderlic test, personality test, phone screen with hiring manager, 2-4 onsite interviews with groups of 3-6 managers/supervisors/engineers, and a token plant tour. The process is standard for bigger companies. You don't know you are wasting your time until you interview with a panel consisting of managers. I met management personnel from multiple plants and there was at least one executive with a confrontational attitude from each.
