I had one interview with James Hardie for the Field Marketing Position. Ultimately, I was not offered the role. I respect that decision. However, I do not respect the way in which they informed me of my rejection. After my first interview concluded, the recruiter I spoke with told me I would be moving on to a second interview and that I could expect to hear from someone about next steps by the end of that week (I interviewed on a Tuesday). I was told that if I did not hear from anyone by the following Monday, I was encouraged to reach out via phone or email to follow up, which I did; three times over the following three weeks I attempted contact. Once via phone, twice via email. My inquiries were not answered. Nearly one month after my initial interview, I received an email from the company recruiter informing me they opted to go with someone else. Again, while I am comfortable with having not been selected for the position, this pandemic of ghosting applicants is, at least tiresome and at most unethical.
