Interview
Their hiring team was communicative and the process was fairly straightforward. I only made it to round 2 so I can't speak to anything beyond that. Round 1 was an online assessment and round 2 was a zoom interview
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What's the minimum number of bills needed to have cash for every amount from $1-$100?
Very easy compared to the other roles at Jane Street. Got asked Probability, coding, brainteasers. Basically a mix of Quant trading and Software Engineering questions. First and Second round were much easier than final onsite round.
The interviewer was extremely kind, approachable, and supportive throughout the entire process, which made the overall experience much more comfortable and less stressful. The questions were largely similar to typical LeetCode-style problems, focusing on core data structures and algorithms. In addition to the coding-focused rounds, one of the initial rounds specifically tested mathematical concepts, which required a strong grasp of fundamentals and logical reasoning.
