I applied online. I interviewed at Jane Street in Feb 2014

Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I was asked to (equivalently) transform binary search tree into array and vice versa. Note that they keep doing gambling with you. You have to bet the number that payoff expectation is positive by your mental math.
The process started with an initial virtual round, followed by an onsite interview. It included a mix of system design and coding problems focused on real-world system applications. Unfortunately, I didn’t perform well in the onsite, which was the most critical stage.
It was a very quick and painless process. Recruiter very responsive, kind interviewers. High implementation and difficult problems, so failed onsite after 3 interviews and a Question and Answer Session.
Did not pass the initial coding round. I tried to explain my thought in details to the interviewer but failed to translate my thought into code. So far interviewer is very nice.
