After applying directly on their website, I had an initial short phone interview with one of their recruiters. I was then given what they called an "audition," which was basically a practical assignment to see how you would solve position relevant problems. They liked my answers and I was asked to come into the office for an interview. The interview was 5 on 1 (initial recruiter not present) and way more intense than I expected an interview for an internship to be. It was clear from the start of the interview that they did not think I was qualified for the position (even though the responsibilities of the position were extremely rudimentary). One of the interviewers rarely looked at me, looking around the room or at his notebook. They were skeptical of all experience on my resume and told me they even googled my work to make sure it was real (of course it was). Overall, they had clearly come into the interview with pre-formed negative, opinions about me. There was obviously some HUGE disconnect between the recruiter that I initially spoke with and the 5 managers that interviewed me. I was honestly insulted that I was asked to drive over an hour to an interview for which I had no chance from the start.
