Worst HR interaction I have ever had. HR contacted me for an interview for a position which was different to the one I had applied for and asked for a time for the interview. I replied back with dates and time and then she went completely quiet and there was absolutely no response. I followed back up with her but absolutely nothing. She then called me back a week later completely randomly (I was not sure what was the point of pretending to schedule was) and told me she wanted to consider me for a position which was asking for more experience than I had and wasnt the best fit for me (while all this while the original position I had applied for was stil open). We spoke on the phone, she told me she will get back to me in a day or two but I never heard back again. Never had such an unprofessional interaction with an HR ever . For all the hype about the company they sure didnt live up to the professionalism in my eyes.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Joby Aviation (California, MD) in May 2026
Interview
three interviews: first HR and then a Technical online. after the technical, if it convinced enough you get a third (and final) one in person. The first one is very much just a fit interview and the second one is not particularly difficult. The third one was almost two hours long, in person and quite detailed.

Interview
Contacted by recruiter for x role. 1st phone screen went well, then moved on to engineer, where I was asked a few questions that did not fit with the job description, answered to the best of my ability and then received a rejection.
Went back on the career website later and realized the questions they asked matched up with another role on the same team that did not fit my experience at all, whereas I met all the requirements for the original position I was contacted for.

Interview
3/4 Stage Interview process where you'll meet with the recruiter, future coworkers, your direct report, and a senior leader. Was a very fast process and always checked in by the recruiter. Expect to know your resume very well and be prepared for technical questions pertaining to the job posting. Was given an offer but unfortunately had to decline for personal reasons. The team was very nice to talk to and helpful during the process.
