John Lewis & Partners Assistant Designer (Fashion) interview questions

The process was structured and professional but very detailed for an assistant level role. Ahead of the interview I was asked to prepare a SWOT analysis of John Lewis and design a small AW26 capsule collection to present. The interview itself lasted just over an hour with two senior designers. It included both behavioural questions and my project presentation. The team were really friendly and gave constructive feedback. They valued my research and fabric designs, though highlighted my strengths felt more textile-focused than silhouette-led. overall, it was a positive experience and a good opportunity to show creative thinking.
