I was proactively approached on Linkedin by an internal HR talent recruiter with Juniper.
The first round telephone interview went very well. I was pleasantly surprised by the thoughtfulness and excellent work by the HR talent manager in finding and identifying my online Linkedin profile as a leading enterprise lead generation specialist in EMEA.
Her friendliness and explanation of the process was very clear and professional.
The second round, was a face-to-face interview with my hiring manager or potential "direct" based in Europe. Again, very pleasant, we saw eye-to- eye on many aspects where my previous experience could drive and support their lead generation requirements and campaign support in EMEA. To wrap up the interview, we agreed I would send him some case studies and examples of the enterprise technology campaigns I have driven.
The final round was only a voice call with the Juniper -MIST marketing leadership. A very short call, approximately 25-30 minutes. Again, sharing my background and discussion of case studies and specific EMEA enterprise marketing campaigns, as well as the results delivered.
One question, I may have tripped on was discussing marketing "tactics" based around lead generation campaigns. No worries, a seasoned veteran in EMEA lead generation, I already provided my potential direct a detailed digital portfolio of campaigns and tactics.
A day later a Juniper HR representative asked for a copy of my national passport and personal national insurance ID number, which is either dodgy or against GDPR compliance and local law to request, unless you have a formal job offer.
2 days later, I was called that I was not selected. The backwards interview process was hurtful and insulting.
Juniper/Mist team should review their backward process internally.
The official reason explained to me over the phone, was that I did not give a strong enough answers on "tactics" planning. Which oddly enough, was clearly outlined and described in advance to my potential hiring manager in the second round.
Advice to MIST marketing team, good luck, but improve your internal process.
