I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Juul Labs (San Francisco, CA)
Interview
The recruiter was very responsive but a little green. Overall experience was good. Interviewed with 2 managers then an on-site interview, consisting of four 1:1’s. You can tell this company is in a hyper growth mode, cut them a little slack.
I got introduced to the company through a startup fair. I had a first informal meeting with the hiring manager and he told me he would invite me to next round with other executives. I told him that I am going away for a long-scheduled trip a month later, for 2 weeks. Fast forward a few weeks later he asks me to schedule the week I am away. I remind him I am away these dates and I say I'm happy to interview through video while I'm away. He goes "no worries, let's touch base when you are back". The day after I get an unexpected request for an interview with the HR. I take the interview while on the trip, all good. The next day I get a request for a second interview by another HR person. I send him available slots and then he never replies back to confirm. I check in a few days later, nothing again. Then I reach out to the hiring manager, no response either. A week later I send an email to the second HR person again and he goes "Oh I thought someone else responded to you, let me look into it". Then a day later I get a cold call by the first recruiter who informs me that someone else got the job. Might be nice people, maybe smart and hard-working but can't go far with these communication skills. Respect people's time and effort.
