      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at KIPP DC (Washington, DC) in Jan 2017

      Interview

I applied via an online application and was then selected to move to the phone interview round. Prior to the phone interview, I had to send over a copy of my unofficial transcript for the recruiter. The phone interview lasted about an hour and included the usual questions (Why KIPP? Tell me about a time when, etc). If you are selected to move beyond a phone interview, you'll complete a writing sample and a reference form before the in-person interview at a school in the area with principals and other school leaders. At that interview, you'll teach a sample lesson plan to a room of fellow applicants and school leaders, and then complete one-on-one interviews with the leaders.

      Question 1

Have you ever resigned from a position? If so, why? Tell me about a time where you disagreed with a decision.

      Interview

Online application, phone interview, mock lesson, and interview panel with school leaders. Relatively easy interview just make sure you’re prepared with any necessary materials. Practice the demo lesson before hand. You will also be completing the demo lesson in front of other applicants.

      Question 1

How do you handle difficult situations? Why are you interested in teaching? How are your organizational skills

      Interview

First round phone screen, second round round-robin interview with a room full of school leaders kind of like speed dating, The questions that were asked by the different school leaders were repetitive at times.
