I applied online and then was promptly contacted to schedule a phone interview. I was very disappointed in the phone interview experience, and felt the experience highlighted a place that doesn't value employees. The interview was scheduled and I was prepared and promptly waiting the phone call.
The interviewer called and was too busy driving and was talking to me via hands free device. She was clearly distracted during the conversation, and there was a great deal of road noise and she was cutting out a lot. I did my best to try to understand her questions and follow the discussion but it was just too difficult. Many times I had to ask her to repeat the question or segments of the question. She then seemed annoyed and eventually asked me to hold so she could turn off the hands free. We continued another 5-10 minutes but she was clearly still distracted with driving.
Most of the questions were basic and focused previous work history and experiences, and why I was interested in KIPP. I am very interested in the organization's reputation and what they do for our community.
