1. Why do you want to work at KIPP Texas Public Schools? Where do you see alignment between your personal beliefs and what you know about KIPP Texas?
2. At KIPP Texas, we are driven in our work to become an anti-racist organization. What does that mean to you? What inequitable practices exist in the pursuit of education and how have you disrupted them as a teacher?
3. In thinking about this past school year, where did you want your students to be in terms of their content mastery at the end of the year? Please give an example of one specific academic benchmark you wanted students to meet. What was the benchmark and did you meet it? What were 2-3 specific levers that lead to that success? How did you track students’ progress?
4. If you have not taught before: Please describe a time in your professional or academic life where you have gone above and beyond in pursuit of a goal? How did you track your progress toward that goal?
5. Tell me about the last time something significant didn’t go according to plan on a project or piece of work that you owned. What happened? What was the outcome? How has this event impacted the way you approach your work now?
6. How do you build joyful and strong, positive relationships with students and families?
7. Think about a specific time you had to work on a team with someone whom you found to be challenging. Who was that person and what were you trying to achieve together? What steps did you take to work with your teammate? What was the end result? How did this situation impact your work with teammates moving forward?
The process was quick, it really depends on the school. I was hired through an partner organization, they really helped to aid the hiring process. The school typically does not take long to inform you.

Very long and demanding. Be prepared to teach a lesson. I would do an elementary lesson that you a very familiar with teaching. Something easy that everyone knows and understands.
