I applied online. I interviewed at KISI (Stockholm, Stockholm) in Jul 2017
Interview
There were one call and one technical task.
It started pretty reasonably, and we've quickly moved to the technical task.
Despite the interview being in its early stage, I've received a task that would require ~16-24 hours of unpaid work. The details of it are below.
I've successfully completed it before the deadline, provided documentation, and here was the feedback of the reviewer:
"I went through the code and liked what I saw, I will also try it out but I already have a clear picture of what is going on."
A couple of days after I've received this feedback from the HR person:
"We were impressed with your qualifications and previous experience, we have decided to move forward with another candidate".
To my understanding, such a large investment from the candidate can only be expected at the very last stage of the procedure when successful completion would mean getting an offer. In the opposite scenario, it means that the company doesn't value the candidate's time in the slightest.
And it becomes egregious enough when the company also denies any constructive feedback on what should be improved after this investment on the part of the candidate.
Kisi was unethical enough to do both.

Great process overall: - recruiting manager are reactive and transparent - you always know where you stand between interviews - they took time to answer all my question - recruiting challenge was fun and you get real feedback when you have completed it

Interview
After I submitted a CV and a cover letter, I was contacted by one of the HR team and had a brief introductory call. I was asked questions about my past experience, a few architectural questions, what I know about the company and so on. I was then given a task to complete, that was the next step of the recruitment process. The task was interesting and I got extensive and detailed feedback from the company on the results. Unfortunately, I did not pass that stage, but overall had a very nice experience
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at KISI in Oct 2022
Interview
The overall experience is way odd then normal. I was contacted by recruiter for a RoR backend position. The recruiter didn't even ask for CV just asked several typical questions. The next step was a tech challenge that i had completed durring my weekends. Several comments and here i am at the technical interview with no one then CTO himself. The technical interview is 30 minutes long which kinda by its own is strange. The guy asked several questions regarding my solution and basically thats it. When i asked CTO what a candidate he wants to be he barely could outline some specific characterists but just a senior developer who will do stuff. I asked half of my questions then he left for an overlapping meeting he had at that time. The overall atmosphere is kinda unwelcome and rush. I got rejected by saying other candidates meet better expectations however they can't explain what kind of candidate they want. When i asked for a feedback i was ignored. Not very professional.
