Pros: Transparent and timely communication during the initial stages of the hiring process. Received positive feedback on the technical task and the interview conversation, which was appreciated. Cons: I dedicated considerable time and effort to a technical task and was scheduled to discuss it in one of my final interviews. Decision to not proceed with candidates felt abrupt, especially considering my upcoming interview with the COO was just around the corner. This decision was made even before I had the opportunity to discuss my completed technical task. The timing and manner of the decision indicate a lack of respect for the time and effort candidates invest in the process. Advice to Management: Candidates invest significant resources preparing for interviews and completing tasks, especially when these tasks are to be discussed in advanced stages of the interview process. Closing positions right before scheduled interviews—especially with senior management—creates a negative candidate experience. Consideration, respect, and timely communication are essential components of a positive candidate journey. I hope future processes are more considerate of candidates' time and effort.
