HR phone screen with a polished VP, who was personable, respectful and professional. Step two was a 1:1 with the hiring manager, who was the absolute opposite. He is the antithesis of that KLAS portrays as a no ego, down to earth, don't take ourselves too seriously culture. From the very second we sat down, he was super serious with zero rapport building skills. If I had to imagine what a Police interrogation was like, this guy was analyzing everything from body language, word choice and appearance to name a few. He just typed away on his laptop, as though filling out a report. In hindsight, his behavior came off calculated, as though he already had his mind made up. This showed up loud and clear when I asked for a balanced assessment of my fit in meeting the needs of his team. Without hesitation, he went straight to the negative, less desirable concerns, both of which one interview couldn't possibly uncover. Ironically, both concerns to all other employers have been recognized as my greatest strengths. This guy comes off like he's the shiz. I am confused how his ego and dry personality fit into such a great company like KLAS. He is the furthest thing from the founders, the Gale's, as one could imagine. After reading another KLAS review with the third round proceedings, I saw how this phase turned into condescension and insults. I have to imagine this same guy was in the room.
