I had a phone interview, two video interviews, and one in-person interview at their office for the Marketing Associate position. The interview process lasted for about four weeks total. They sent over information for me to review prior to my onsite interview so I could learn more about Kadena and blockchain. During my in-person interview, one of the employees came off a little condescending, which brought some concerns in my mind.
My main objection regarding this entire interview experience was the reason they gave for the decline. The job description for the Marketing Associate position stated that this would be a great role for a "recent college graduate" or "someone who is making a career change". I saw this as a great learning opportunity for someone who just graduated. I did not get the position because they felt that my skillset was not the right fit for them at the time. I didn’t understand why they said that when they knew I was a college graduate looking for my first full-time position. The only skillset I had was from my work/internship experience as a college student. They should have caught this during the phone/video interviews prior to the the onsite interview. It appeared they were expecting more from me even though they had stated college graduate on their job description. If they wanted someone with specific skillsets, they should rewrite the job description to remove "college graduate" or seek candidates with specific knowledge and experience in blockchain. It's misleading and confusing to candidates especially when you continue to move forward in the interview process thinking you have the qualifications for the position.
