I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Kaplan (Bloomington, IN) in Sep 2008
Interview
The hiring process was pretty simple. Interviews are hard to come by however if you live in a college town because people will take the good jobs when they are freshman and won't leave from them until they graduate. It was one interview and I would say as long as you are friendly and look put together the job is yours.
I remember I had an online interview with two staff, and then had admin tasks after the interview on the same day, like using Microsoft excel and replying an email.
First a written case study - respond to the customer as a Kaplan's employee.
Second mock phone call with one of Kaplan's senior employees who pretend to be a student calling to inquire about one of the preparation courses.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Kaplan (New York, NY)
Interview
They hire from within first. They are big on referrals from employees.
Interview style Casual / Basic.
Group interview style. Each person asked a question.
They you had to do a demonstration (teach something, convince them on something, etc. ) - you choose the topic.
