      I interviewed at Karius

      Interview

Had a call with the recruiter and huge red flag was that the recruiter was not aware of the expectations of the role, and instead read out a checklist of requirements. There was a lack of transparency around the compensation and it was frustrating as the recruiter couldn't answer how base and equity would work out to be. They still wanted me to answer what my expectations are, but without a framework of TC, I gave a ballpark. The recruiter still wanted to move me forward and scheduled a call with the hiring manager. Days before my hiring manager interview, the recruiter called and said that my expectations for salary were too high and cancelled my interview. I was hoping to use the opportunity to get more clarity into the situation since it seemed the recruiter wasn't able to answer my questions. Unfortunately, this was a very poor experience at such an early stage of the process.
