      Associate Product Manager Interview

      Mar 31, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Austin, TX
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Kasasa (Austin, TX) in Feb 2016

      Interview

I applied online and was contacted about a week and a half later via an email from the hiring manager. Had a 1:1 phone call with the hiring manager. Took about 30 minutes. Really professional and very nice. He was very straightforward about the job and what was expected from the role. I kind of felt like he was trying to talk me out of wanting the job, but it actually made me want to work for the company even more. About a week later, I had another interview with the hiring manager. This one was more in-depth and the questions were a lot tougher. Still very professional and the guy was super nice. But I would not advise giving bland or general answers. Felt kind of like an interrogation. A lot of my answers were immediately followed up with another question about why I answered the way I did. All in all, a really positive experience. Then I visited their offices for a team interview. They have really nice offices with a cool theme throughout. The team was really cool and the questions were a lot easier than the phone calls had been. I also was asked to take a Wonderlic test. The test is not a big deal, but it feels kind of intimidating. You basically sit in a room by yourself and answer as many questions as you can in 10 minutes. The hiring manager called me a couple of days later and said that the company was moving forward with another candidate. It was disappointing news to hear, but I really appreciate that they would take the time to call and let me know. Most companies don't even send an email. The hiring manager even gave me some tips on things I could do to be a more attractive candidate the next time around, and that was really awesome feedback. I recently accepted an offer from a different company, but I am still looking at positions at Kasasa. It seems to be a really cool company with good-hearted people.
