I was contacted quickly for an interview for a professional/management-level position. The interview got off on the wrong foot when the TA person called me 6 minutes late for my interview. He was very friendly and apologetic but a bit unprofessional when he said that the previous candidate had kept him too long with questions. Fast forward 23 minutes (yes, less than 1 minute left in my block of time even though he was late) and I was asked if I had any questions. I asked 1 question and he responded “well, I guess I’m just going to run behind by 5 minutes all day!” Why offer me the opportunity then? TA is the first and many times only impression a company will make. I would not want to work for an organization that treats candidates this way.
