A complete farce. A foregone conclusion cannot be overcome. In the process in which I was involved the decision of which applicant to hire was made before the job was even announced. It was abundantly clear that they were going through the motions rather than seeking to identify the most qualified person for the job. In this case, a person who was still in grad school when I started at KSU as an adjunct was given the post. My teaching and professional experience exceeds that of the person hired by nearly two decades. Not the fair process it is intended and mandated to be.

Interview
Very short interview process. It lasted only one day, so there was very little time to really get to know people and ask questions. I met with the chair, the associate dean, had to give a presentation to the departmental faculty, and just saw individual faculty members from time to time. Had dinner with the search committee. Was required to teach one class on the same day as the interview. I would have liked to have had time to speak with individual faculty on a one-on-one basis, as well as talk with students one-on-one.
