Interview
Was asked the typical interview questions. I noticed as I walked in though that all the employees were younger, mid to late 20’s or early 30’s, and nice looking. The interviewer glanced me up and down and didn’t seem very interested right away. Not sure if she thought I was too fat or too old. I am in my mid-40’s, have a Bs in business administration, and am a veteran. I guess some 20 year old was better qualified than me. I’m guessing it was due to my age and looks though based in the first impression I got with the interviewer here in Washington.

Interview
The recruiter did not sound interested throughout the whole interview and asked borderline offensive questions. A little background: I was unemployed for a while due to layoffs. I guess the recruiter did not like the fact that there were gaps in my work history and asked me if I am still unemployed? How would I support myself financially if I weren't employed? What am I trying to get out of being a teller? Is this really appropriate for a phone screening? I got a rejection a week after the phone interview.

One in person interview with hiring manager. Asks a multitude of questions regarding my banking experience, customer service experience, handling confidentiality, etc. Situational questions regarding disgruntled customers. Handling working relationship questions as well.

Phone call with recruiter shortly after applying (about 3 days), meeting with supervisor about a week later. Job offered that day over the phone and started the next week. Pretty straightforward the entire way
