I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Keyence (Chicago, IL) in Aug 2016
Interview
I had previously applied for a sales role, but another candidate had been chosen before my in-person interview. I was then contacted about one month later to interview for the Technical Marketing Engineer position. To my understanding, the interview processes are similar, if not identical. I had to pass each of these in this order to be hired:
1.) Technical Aptitude Test (55 basic physics/engineering questions in 25 min)
2.) Phone Screen (quick, easy, straightforward)
3.) Video Interview (tricky-- you are given questions and must record your answers to them in allotted time)
4.) Personality Test (they review your video interview if you pass the personality test)
5.) In-person interview (sales presentation on one of their products... a sales position additionally requires a sales role-play where you try to sell a pen)
Overall, I believe the interview process was (excessively) thorough. If I could change anything, I would suggest that the personality test be administered prior to the video interview-- the personality test is probably the biggest "hard stop" in the interview process: if you don't pass to their standards, you're immediately cut from consideration for the role, and your video interview won't even be viewed. I also suggest working through a staffing agency, as they were able to guide me through the difficult process and help me prepare well.

Question 1
(In-person) The product you presented on is worth $$ (a lot of money); how would a customer justify investing that kind of money in this product?
Online application through indeed. Then I received email to apply through company portal. They got back to me within a week to move forward with the process. Now I must take the Wiesen 30 minute technical assessment. Along with HireVue digital interview assessment.
The resume is screened, then you are required to record a Hirevue interview, then take an aptitude test, then invited to a final interview with roleplay about one of the products offered.

Question 1
Explain the role and why you think your background and skills are a good fit.
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Keyence (Chicago, IL) in Oct 2025
Interview
Completed a digital interview through hirevue. The questions were simple, but it was weird talking to a computer. The other qualifying test was easier than I thought it was going to be. I studied, but it was unnecessary.
