The interview process was a slow-motion train wreck that somehow managed to get worse at every turn.
The entire ordeal took 11 months... yes, eleven, and involved nine separate interviews. Initially, I applied for a Senior Software Engineering role based out of Loveland, CO, which seemed straightforward enough. But somewhere along the line, the process went completely off the rails.
After months of back-and-forth, interview rounds with two different teams (they switched the team I was interviewing with mid-process), and long periods of radio silence, I was finally extended an offer, only to discover it was for a completely different location: Santa Rosa, CA! I never even expressed interest in relocating to California. That misunderstanding triggered yet another interview to “correct” the location and re-validate me for the Loveland team… the one I had been interviewing for all along. As an aside, I never once spoke to anyone from the Loveland office, it seems the team there that I interviewed for is managed out of Spain... and Seattle? Who knows.
To add insult to bureaucratic injury, the compensation came in about $30,000 under my stated expectations, and significantly below market for the role and region. After almost a year of interviews and logistical mishaps, this felt like a slap in the face.
The interview logistics were so glacially slow that I was actually promoted, twice, at my current job that I was looking to leave. Move a bit faster in the future if you want to hire talented engineers.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Keysight Technologies (Essen, North Rhine-Westphalia)
