Interview process was very stiff and unfriendly. Interviewer gave off an air of being tired of interviewing for the role, through her tone, lack of enthusiasm, rushed conversation, and body language. People who were supposed to be in interview were not and I was not told anyone would be joining until I asked about it while waiting for it to start. I felt the process was very unprofessional and I was very out off.
I was asked questions that were not related to the role - they were much more technical in nature than the role needed to be (developer related questions) - this was an analyst role not requiring development skills. I was questioning the string of unrelated questions and while I was asking the interviewer about the questions, she proceeded to just move on to the next question, and gave negative feedback on my interview, stating I didn't answer questions she asked.
This was a completely unprofessionally handled interview. If Kiewit is going to give negative feedback on excellent candidates that are more than qualified for a role they apply for, and have numerous positives referrals to back them, your Manager doing the interview should be better educated on how to properly conduct an interview for the role she's hiring for....not for her technical department, which is what she did. If she's going to do that, and catch candidates off guard, at least give them an opportunity to answer, and not rudely move on to the next question, then blame the candidate for not answering. The candidate was simply following your flow of the interview.
This person represented Kiewit in the most unprofessional way. I had always wanted to work for Kiewit...until this experience. I will never apply for, or recommend Kiewit to anyone as a good place to work.
