      Civil Engineer-in-training Interview

      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Lisle, IL
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Kimley-Horn (Lisle, IL) in Mar 2013

      Interview

First interview was one on one with the highest engineer at the Lisle office. This portion contained typical interview questions and asked what I knew about the company. After 30 minutes he left and two other engineers came in. This portion was laid back and felt like a conversation. Two more engineers came in to replace them and the same process ensued. The final 30 minutes was a one on one with a young EIT explaining what she does and her duties.

      Interview

Very pleasant experience starting with an introductory phone call and moving on to a formal interview with 3 separate sessions which included 2 interviewers each. Kimley-Horn's human resources center is incredible and make the entire interview process a breeze. Most likely the best interview experience I had in my job search.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Kimley-Horn (Orlando, FL) in Mar 2017

      Interview

I applied in late December and had a brief phone interview with HR in early January. They wanted to get to know me and my interests and get some info on my college/intern experience. The call went great but I was discouraged after not hearing from them as soon as I expected. Months had gone by with no update, I was very disappointed. They then reached out to me mid-March wanting to transport me to town for an in-person interview. I met 1-on-1 with the VP, a project manager, and another PE all asking questions mostly wanting get to know me as a person, my career interests, and a little bit about my experience, which was followed up by lunch with some young engineers. An all-around great total experience.
