      Human Resources Specialist Interview

      Dec 22, 2022
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Kirkland & Ellis in Apr 2022

      Interview

Started with an external recruiter who reached out to me regarding the position. Once I spoke with this individual it took over 2 months from my first phone interview with the internal recruiter to actually starting in this position. I enjoyed the interview process and the variety of individuals I spoke with and questions they asked to get to know me and determine if i was a good fit. Once I received an offer and accepted it did take a long time for additional processing before I was confirmed to start.

      Application

I interviewed at Kirkland & Ellis

      Interview

The process was straightforward. I was contacted by a Coordinator/Generalist to set up a time to do a phone screen. I then spoke to another HR Coordinator and a Sr. HR Specialist. Those were about half an hour each and they were nice. The last interview was with a Sr. HR Manager/Office Manager. That went fine but there were some red flags during the interview. During the second and third interview, I was told that the lawyers come first and are a priority and the rest of the staff is second. That was a HUGE red flag because that means it's not an equitable workforce. They could've worded that differently but chose not to. I appreciate the bluntness, though. Of course, there was no follow-up or email after the last interview but am I surprised? Not really. The firm has already set the tone of its culture and its reputation by ghosting candidates.
