Contacted by a third party recruiter, screened and notified that the company is looking to fill the position right away.
Hiring manager went on vacation without notifying the recruiter and first phone screen with the company was delayed.
The interview was semi-technical.
Phone screen was successful and I was invited for a group interview however did not know who will interview me and how long it would take.
Group interview spanned over 3.5 hrs. with various managers popping in and telling me about their company.
They were all in meetings in between and seemed to be not prepared or in a hurry.
Only one manager out of 7 asked questions and the rest were just telling me about their job functions.
I was asking questions about the company, its competitors, offering some potential solutions, giving my previous examples, etc..
Hiring manager was the last person to interview me and he was telling the stories about his career, what what he found to be important, etc.
It was a nice and friendly conversation with everyone and I thought I did very well and clicked with everyone.
One of the managers mentioned that they already have hired a temp/contract QA Manager which I found to be very odd.
I got the call the following week notifying me that I was not "dominant" enough in the interview.
I thought it was a bit odd for a feedback.
Overall, it seems they already have someone and were stringing the recruiter and me along for some unknown reason(s).
