I applied online. I interviewed at Kohl's (Hartford, CT)
Interview
Online application. Regular interview questions expected in retail. Senerio based/customer service based. Basically assessing if you can handle tough retail situations which will arrise often. If your availability is decent you'll most likely get the job. All full time employees are dept leads.

Question 1
Describe a time when you went above and beyond for a customer
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Kohl's (Redding, CA) in Feb 2025
Interview
Terrible. Checked in. Waited 25 minutes standing awkwardly next to customer service area as people came and went. Finally was greeted and taken to back office for interview around 1:10. They said just to let you know we have no openings but we can still do an interview for the future. I said sure. They asked my availability. I told them. They said for full time you have to have 100% open availability to work any day or time. They shook my hand and said thank you and I asked, oh is that it? They said Yes. I was walking out by 1:12. Unprofessional and disrespectful of time.
For context: They posted online that they had job openings, I did the application, they sent me an email to set up interview, etc. I don't know what happened- maybe it was racial discrimination? Who knows.

Interview
Poor communication skills from hiring manager. Came across as very rude. Rescheduled interview upon request. To my dismay I was called day of interview stating position had been filled before completion.
I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Kohl's (Slidell, LA) in Mar 2024
Interview
I applied online via Kohl’s career website. Received an email confirmation and received text confirmation. A week or so later received a text to schedule an interview. Upon arriving to the Kohls location for my interview scheduled for 10am, I was informed by the hiring manager that they already filled the position, stated I provided the wrong email address on my application, and that they would keep my application on file for future positions. I provided the manager my email address and he wrote it on the copy of my resume that I provided when filling out my application, the same email listed on my resume. Not sure how they managed not to inform me prior to my arrival that the position had been filled.
