I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Kohl's (Brentwood, CA) in Jul 2020
Interview
I applied online through their career website. Two or three days later I received an email asking to schedule a phone interview which would consist of an overview of the position as well as behavioral interview questions about common scenarios I would encounter. The phone interview began with questions about my availability (what hours I could work, if I could work weekends or holidays), then the interviewer explained my position (told me that I would also be cross-trained in other areas of the store), and then we went into the interview questions (around 10 questions). The Interviewer was very casual and made me feel comfortable.

Question 1
How would you handle being assigned an overwhelming amount of tasks while working?
I applied online and the next day was asked to schedule a live video interview. I scheduled my interview and joined the call at the scheduled time. The manager was about 20 minutes late and only joined after I called the store to inquire about the status of the interview. He emphasized that he was not looking for a cashier, but a strong salesperson who could confidently sell the store credit card and meet the conversion rates. The manager told me that he had several more interviews to conduct that day, but he liked me and would likely call me soon. He called me back less than 30 minutes after the interview was concluded and offered me the position. I asked if I could take some time to consider the offer and get back to him by the end of business the next day (less than 24 hours). He was hesitant to allow that and instead suggested he call me the next morning. That did not work for my schedule, and he eventually said for me to call him the next day.
