I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Kohl's (Durham, NC) in Oct 2023
Interview
Job was recomended by a friend who is a longtime employee. Most was straightforward but considering that location is desperate for help, they would rather hire people who stand around talking. Management is petty. The only way this store will improve is with a complete turnover of the management team. Specifically the supervisors who have browbeat the store manager, this is seems to be the source of the problem. The female supervisors are very domineering and it shows in their body language and how nosy they are outside of the interview. It makes for an unfriendly environment and I'm glad to have had a better offer elsewhere.
Pretty straight forward, the interview was like any other for any clothing company. Pretty quick, from call to being on the job took 1-2 weeks minimum. Though pay wasn’t that great, it was still a good learning experience.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
If a customer asked for a location of a product what will you do
Very easy! They asked about my experience and ask me a few behavioral questions and then discuss about the role. The manager was really nice and really enjoyed it as a first job!
Fairly easy interview with standard questions about experience and availability. The interviewer was professional and explained the role clearly. I was surprised to learn of evening availability requirements that were not reflected in the availability I submitted on my application.
