Interviewing for Kubota is an interesting experience. The company is Japanese, and even the American sector is run and managed by Japanese individuals working in the United States. Thus, the questions and culture of the interview related to working in a Japanese environment in some respects, as well as working for a Japanese company in America.
The interviewers did not seem intimately familiar with the workings of an engineering position, and most of the questions were typical "power interview" questions such as "What do you think is your greatest weakness" and "What one word would you use to describe yourself." The interviewers took many notes and seemed to consider simple questions very deeply, but really it was clear they simply wanted to discover how comfortable the interviewee was with the process and inquiries.
