The process was easy IF you were me. What I mean by this is that I was very lucky. I personally have a cousin who did really good work at Kumo years ago so the franchise owners were very willing to let me on. This didn't seem to be the case for most employees. I was told they would usually have a comprehensive reading and math quiz for every hire but, because my cousin had worked there I skipped the reading portion entirely and did only 10 questions out of a 6-page math book ( roughly 10 questions/page). I was being employed as a high school grader so it was only 6th to 8th-grade level material. If you're not brushed up on your common core math and reading you might struggle. Which even with my enormous opportunity, I was still awful at math. I got about 3 questions wrong out of 10 which judging by the look on my employers face was far too many ( so scale that up to 60 questions) but, I was able to frame it as "learning the Kumon way" while being a former employees cousin which lead me to getting the job. The fact that if you know a former employee you're more likely to get the job sucks but, the people are nice enough.
