      Administrative Assistant/Office Manager Interview

      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at LGI Homes

      Interview

I applied to LGI after reading a posting that the company was hiring on LinkedIn. About a week after I applied, I was contacted by a recruiter from The Woodlands office to do a phone interview. The phone interview lasted literally 6 minutes and was extremely easy. She told me that she would send me a personality test via email and would contact me about the next step after I completed the evaluation. I completed the personality evaluation that day, but was not contacted for two weeks afterward. I actually emailed the woman who had given me the phone interview TWICE before she ever responded. She told me she would send my information to a hiring manager in the Dallas area. Two weeks after that I finally received a call saying the hiring manager wanted me to come in for a face-to-face interview. At my interview, the manager was very nice and friendly. She seemed to genuinely care about her employees and even her applicants. I thought the interview had gone well and she told me she would contact me the next Monday with her decision. Well, by Wednesday I still hadn't heard from her. I gave her a call and left a voicemail that was unreturned. Finally, on Friday I called again asking what my status was. She told me that she was going to go with a different candidate simply because that candidate lived closer. All of this after I distinctly told her that I was more than willing to relocate closer to the office. I just wish she had been honest with me, instead of making up some excuse that the other candidate was more qualified because she lived closer.

Thank you for the review. While the outcome wasn’t what you hoped, we appreciate you sharing the feedback. The volume of applicants makes for a very competitive selection process, and sometimes decision making takes more time than anticipated. Thank you again and best of luck!
