I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at LGI Homes (Nashville, TN) in Jun 2024
Interview
Spent first 20 minutes or so asking me unique questions about if certain words "describe" me. Then gave me a presentation about everything that's already on their website. There were 4 gentlemen there, Chris (the one that spoke to me) seemed nice enough, the other 3 acted like they were upset they had to be there from the moment I walked in. I almost apologized if I offended them. I have closed over 50 home sales in the past 12 months in my market (which is close to their current top salesman in their entire company), I printed out a folder containing references, reference letter from previous CEO, resume, cover letter etc... I visited the neighborhood site that was hiring & spoke with the employees there about this position.
I spent a lot of time & effort into this potential opportunity & felt I am more than reasonably qualified.
I did not even receive an email back until I requested info weeks later.
Exceptionally disappointed.
They do not seem to deliver on their claims. In the end, I'm glad it didn't work out since I have a much better opportunity in front of me.
I hope my experience helps others!
They seem to want a highly "moldable" salesperson that they can continue to prop up with strange achievement prizes. Good luck everyone!
First contact other than email was a Zoom meeting. If you're not used to seeing yourself on a screen it's very uncomfortable and in my case didn't represent my personality at all.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at LGI Homes (Denver, CO) in Oct 2025
Interview
Was contacted by a recruiter out of the blue so I went to a hiring event. Sat through some company info. Filled out a personality test. Had a quick 5 minute chat with an employee. They said they would like to bring me back for an interview but then I got the we went with other candidates e-mail.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at LGI Homes (California) in Aug 2025
Interview
Received a email 4 days after application submitted for a Teams interview. Meet with the recruiter for 10 mins. Asked about myself and work history. Then gave me info on the company and job. Asked if I had any questions. Then said they would let me know by next week.
