I applied for the position. I received an email from HR for a phone interview with two IT Managers. One IT Manager said nothing at all. The interviewer did not ask me anything about myself. The 1st red flag had no intentions of hiring me from the start. He immediately said this is a phone screen. He went straight to asking how we ran our quality assurance department. It felt like an interrogation, to say the least. LSU is not committed to diversity. I know I am a qualified applicant because they confirmed it in my denial letter. And I quote "While you were a qualified candidate, we have determined that the credentials of other candidates will better fit our needs at this time." Taking into consideration they are hiring for a position that requires the bare minimum in the level 1 position. Of which I have. It was the most unprofessional interview I have experienced in life and shame on the other IT Manager that just sat there and said nothing at all. This goes to show you that they are not committed to diversity. It really needs to be taken out of the postings. For the record, diversity means all types of people from different walks of life. Lastly, I felt that the questions were more aligned with someone who needed to know how another quality assurance department was run so they could learn from my experience. I will encourage any other applicants if you are looking for somewhere that is committed to diversity, apply somewhere else.
