TLDR; Company follows shady practices for background verification without valid reasons. There were two technical rounds the first one was very casual with the interviewer not having any clarity on what assignment he is interviewing for, hence questions were very generic. Second round was very well organized with checking deeper understanding on Azure Cloud practices. The interviewer was very good and patient in getting scenario based questions and putting the expectations for answers. The main troubling part of the whole process was from the HR partner not keeping transparency on the selection process and progress. They triggered the background verification process before scheduling 2nd round. The BGV involves submitting your ITR and PF portal credentials on a third party website that is supposed to scrape data without proper integration with any of these portals. I see it as if someone is asking me to share my bank credentials for verifying salary drawn in current organization. When raised questions on these practises asking for letting me know the data from sites they are looking for so I can extract and submit. Without any response from the verification agency and HR I went with withdrawing my candidature voluntarily got replies after a day, First HR was clueless and asked help from other 2nd HR. Then I got revered back saying I was not going through the next round(s) since I was not selected. BGV in that scenario is completely unnecessary with prerequisites to share highly confidential data with third parties. Considering how things went well never recommend or would ever entertain the organization in future.
