I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at La-Z-Boy (Milford, CT)
Interview
Met with the regional manager and store manager. Was asked typical questions while seated on a comfy couch. Fairly normal. No curve balls for experienced interviewee.. It felt pretty informal from the seating but was formal in dialogue. Made small chat with receptionists who we're pretty helpful about finding out more info on the job and work environment. Didn't meet with the current design consultant until after hired. It would have been nice to talk to before taking the job.
nitial Phone Screen (Optional)
You might first speak with an HR representative or store manager about your background, availability, and interest in the role.
In-Person or Video Interview

I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at La-Z-Boy (Rockville, MD) in Apr 2016
Interview
It went pretty quickly. I interviewed with both managers and was hired immediately. The process only took a while because there was a transition in management. But otherwise it went well.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked me why I thought the design position was right for me and talked about being hard working and driven. They asked about experience in retail and availability of course. It was informal but very productive.
I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at La-Z-Boy (Montgomery, AL) in Mar 2016
Interview
I had two interviews. One was with the store manager (who left), and the other was with the then store manager and the general manager. It went very well, but both were long. The first was about 2 hours, and the second one was about an hour.
