I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at LangChain (New York, NY) in Mar 2026
Interview
It was a take home test and I was allowed to use ai. It was related to one of their existing services and it was an optimization problem on a fastAPI api that used an obscure db driver.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at LangChain in Dec 2025
Interview
Introduction to recruiter. Filter through to hiring manager. Hiring manager to take home. Take home to panel. Panel to possible next panel. This is the loop.
Fundamentally, I got all the way to the take home. It was a janky project. It was also visibly kind of old. I got poor communication from the coordinator of the loop and they dragged their feet the entire time. No proper feedback.
Avoid them, but don't just avoid them because of the shoddiness of the interview loop. Avoid them because their entire business model is in incredible danger going forward. This is the kind of company that has a long tail before its main product gets eaten out by new competition. Their primarily serving a thin layer in the AI stack that is mostly being collapsed and the people who haven't realized that will slowly do so over time. Like the newspapers, the delay between profit and collapse is merely a lag time.
