I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Latham & Watkins (Washington, DC) in Feb 2017
Interview
Phone interview, in person interview with many candidates, in person interview with multiple employees
Phone interview was pretty typical. The next phase they invited about 30 candidates. They gave an overview of the company, then a group project/ presentation. The final phase was a "speed dating" type interview process. You and another candidate went around the room and talked to a few employees and were asked about two questions at each spot.
A few days later received a call for a final interview, which was about 2 hours long and every 15 minutes a new group of employees came in to interview me individually.
Downside of the process was none of my travel costs were covered.

Interview
The first round of this process is HireVue. The HireVue is just to get to know you better, nothing very challenging or difficult. Second round consists of a big group zoom. You will have a chance to meet people currently working at Latham and learn more about the position. You'll be placed in a breakout room where you will all have to work through a case study. There will be someone monitoring your group so you will be able to ask them questions if you are confused but you also have your teammates there to help you out. After the group activity, you will have some one on one interviews. I was really nervous going into this because I didn't know what to expect but everyone that I spoke with was truly so kind. They all made me feel really comfortable and seemed excited to learn more about me. Shortly after the second round was over, I got an email inviting me to participate in the final round. The final round was in LA but no worries if you are from out of state, the Latham & Watkins team is super helpful and they were able to organize my flight and hotel accommodations for me. During the final round, it was more one on one interviews. All the questions were just about getting to know how I worked in a team and handle different situations. After the interviews, everyone eats lunch together. They gave all the interviewees assigned seating and then other people that were already working there were able to join our table and talk to us. This was amazing because I was able to hear from individuals from different departments. One man that I spoke to, he was super sweet and he showed me an app that he helped create for Latham (which was so cool). Also, the lady that was in my in breakout room came and said hi to me while I was eating lunch, which I thought was really thoughtful of her. She didn't need to do that but I thought just the fact that she remembered me and made it a point to come talk to me was so generous.
Meeting more of the Latham & Watkins team just made me even more excited for this opportunity. Throughout this whole process, there was constant communication so you were always aware of what was going on. Latham & Watkins made this process very smooth and made sure everyone was well taken care of.
