The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Latham & Watkins (San Francisco, CA) in Oct 2007
Interview
I did on campus interview, which was a brief 20 minute interview with a partner from the Silicon Valley office. This was mostly a fit interview. They asked questions about my resume and why I was looking to work in SF, etc. Then I had a call back that went from 9 a.m. to after lunch. They gave me an offer on the spot, right after the lunch with a couple of associates.

Question 1
N/A - though they might ask these kinds of questions to laterals, this is not something they ask to summers
Screener with partner lasting 20 minutes
Callback with 5 attorneys (mix of partners, associates, and counsel) lasting over two hours.
The whole process was very well organized and I received an offer within a day of final grades

Question 1
Screener with partner had basic behavioral questions about how you like law school, why Latham, why this location. Callback it was a mixed bag. Some interviewers were definitely trying to test me with some harder questions (i.e. how does big law comport with your background) but others were very conversational and driven by me asking questions
I applied through other source. I interviewed at Latham & Watkins (San Francisco, CA) in Dec 2025
Interview
Went great! Very kind interviewers. It was more of a fluid conversation than a formal interview. I appreciated learning more about their practice groups and specialties. I would recommend this firm.

Conversational interview that lasted about 3 hours with two partners and a mix of senior and junior associates. Got invited to a dinner between the interview and decision, not sure if that factored in at all. Pretty straightforward process.
