I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in Jan 2023
Interview
A one hour interview with three researchers that was very casual in nature. Felt very conversational with an emphasis on sharing career and educational goals. It felt like the interviewers wanted to see how well I would fit in their team in terms of character. There were some technical elements (sharing my experience in past projects and what tools I used), but definitely nothing rigorous like inverting a binary tree.
