I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Legal Aid Society
Interview
Was contacted by a secretary to schedule an interview. No itinerary was given. I spoke first with three managing attorneys, one of which questioned my intentions in applying almost to an unprofessional extent. Afterwards, they left and 8-10 staff attorneys came in and peppered me with questions. There was no explanation of the process beforehand and, while speaking to the staff attorneys was less awkward than speaking to the managing attorneys, it all seemed a little disorganized. Nobody really sold the job well. Finally, and most annoyingly, the organization did not contact me to say that I did not get the position. It's a common NYC thing but always annoys me.
First interview for Juvenile Rights Practice focused on hypos, past experience, and awareness about social justice issues. They asked for references a few days after my interview. Then, months later I learned they were pausing hiring for the position
Standard interview questions, then hypotheticals. The hypotheticals were reasonably easy to answer on the spot. This is with regard to the first round of interviewing. I am hoping to hear back for a second interview.

Mock summation and some followup questions after, role playing how you'd handle a client in a stressfull situation, etc. There was two rounds, one for the summation(about 40 mins), and then a followup with Tina. She asks pretty basic PD questions.
